Harcourts Grenadier was established in Christchurch by Robert McCormack in 1991 with a single office and less than a dozen sales consultants. Today, we are the largest and most successful real estate company in the South Island with nearly 200 licensed sales consultants and over 60 dedicated support staff. 
 

When Robert started Harcourts Grenadier, his vision was to create a real estate business with a difference. One that took the time to build lasting relationships with our clients and take a forward-thinking and innovative approach to real estate. He hoped to become the largest and most recognised real estate brand in Christchurch. Robert also knew he had to surround himself with the cream of the crop – “in real estate, it’s the people who make all the difference,” he says. 
 

Andy Freeman became our managing director in 2014 after joining Harcourts Grenadier in 1993 as a sales consultant. After several years of successfully selling real estate, he became a business partner in 1999 managing the Avonhead and Ferrymead offices and sharing his expertise with the wider team. 
 

Andy has always taken a unique approach to real estate and his experience combined with Robert’s unwavering passion for the business, makes for a formidable duo to lead Harcourts Grenadier into the future.  
 

Harcourts Grenadier was one of the first Harcourts franchises in the world to put a huge emphasis on our auction business as well as support commercial and business brokerage divisions in addition to residential property sales. 
 

Auctions are a massive part of our business, we call over 800 residential and commercial auctions combined in any given year with that number continually growing. Our state-of-the-art, purpose-built auction facilities utilise the most cutting-edge technology. Our bespoke auction software and live online auction platform has been sought-after by many other real estate companies. We also have a full-time auction coordinator who looks after this vital area of our business. We take great pride in leading the way with real estate technology and practises. 
 

Also seldom found in real estate companies, we have a dedicated and qualified marketing team to ensure that your property gets the profile it deserves. We understand that no two properties are the same and we believe that the marketing of each property should be customised to suit our clients’ needs. 
 

We operate citywide from eleven offices including a dedicated residential property management branch as well as a commercial and business broking division operating under the NAI Harcourts name, both are based at our flagship Christchurch City office on Moorhouse Avenue.
